Electric Connections is an immersive, biometric, living audiovisual reflection of joy, creativity, and the weird magic of simply being with someone.
Using heart-rate-responsive technology, the participants’ pulses are captured by sensors and translated into dynamic visuals and reactive soundscapes, allowing us to see and hear the sensory portrait of emotional connection.
Do you know that moment when you lock eyes with someone and suddenly, you can feel your heartbeat changing?
Your pulse. My pulse. One heart-rate-responsive technology. As our heartbeats sync or drift apart, audiovisual worlds bleed into the space between us.
Electric Connections isn't a show you watch. It's one you feel, as you let your pulse do the talking.
Created by Alexandra Drăghici, with support from The National Youth Theatre and Theatre Deli, Electric Connections is a bold, pioneering step in biometric theatre, exploring the unique, invisible bond between people.
Heartbeats, captured through finger sensors or wristwatches, drive personalised, particle-based visuals, accompanied by parallel soundscapes that merge when pulses align, and disintegrate when they drift apart.
Electric Connections merges storytelling, interactive art, and biometric data into the ultimate reactive system that turns pulse into light, rhythm into motion, and raw emotion into art.
